Say what?
[info]amsuchagoodgirl
Tonight, as I was sat in the beauticians, my daughter enjoyed a bag of dried apricots. The lovely person who does my nails said...

"Just remind me again... What fruit does apricot come from?"

Did I just do that?
[info]amsuchagoodgirl
Filing the car up with fuel has never been a favourite task of mine. Especially when you end up wrestling with the pump, confused as to why nothing with come out, smiling anxiously at the other people waiting, only to realise when you get back in the car and drive about three yards to the next pump, that you needed to put your debit card in the machine first because you're in the Pay@Pump lane.

Clever idea.

Shame I'm too dumb to work it on a busy Tuesday morning.

The things we do for love...
[info]amsuchagoodgirl

*sighs heavily*

Today I am a WAG. And it is boring as hell. I have a five year old who's exhausted all the toys we brought and is even more fed up than I am.

Mr GoodGirl is taking part in a pro bowling tournament, a game I've never been that enthralled with anyhow. So the bar is filled with wives and girlfriends dutifully supporting their men.

Only another six hours or so to go...

No word of a lie...

Okay, let me just check the date on my calender to see if this is some kind of mental joke....

Nope. April 1st is a long way off.

I found out today that my li'l sisters high school is no longer under the control of the Local Education Authority. Nope siree.

Just try and guess who's running the show now! Go on! Who?

this blew my mind... )
I  shall keep you updated.

Rome wasn't built in a day.

I get messages all the time regarding my fics, which are great for keeping me on my toes when it comes to updating. But this morning I was asked another question which I thought would make a good post too. So here you go;

Q. I also wonder if you take fan-fiction seriously, or if you don't really care
that much for it?

all good things come to those who wait... )

So there you have it. Why I write.

The BIG question!
[info]amsuchagoodgirl
Technically, is a Jaffa cake a cake or a biscuit?

Lily Allen tweeted this question a while ago and I just had to reply.

According to Roy Cropper on Corrie, the definition as ruled by the EU is that a cake goes hard when it's stale and a biscuit goes soft. Thereby making Jaffa cakes, by definition, a cake.

The majority of Lily's fans, however, voted biscuit.

I'm not ashamed to admit this annoyed me.

BTW, if anyone does watch Coronation Street I'm also not ashamed to admit I've been to the  Cumberland Pencil Museum. (My husband however, is very ashamed of the fact.)

Cultural differences.
[info]amsuchagoodgirl
I'm slowly catching up with many, many fan fic chapters that have landed in my email in the two weeks, and one fic in particular featured "s'mores" These are pretty alien to me, but am I right in thinking that they are marshmallow sandwiched between biscuit and covered in chocolate?

Coz they sound like "Waggon Wheels".

...

...

Bugger. Now I'm hungry.

...

Is "the biscuit cupboard" a purely British concept?
